Marine and Environmental Services

One of the few behind the scenes elements of our small boat charter is our work in the Environmental Monitoring sector. We’re involved in a few projects up and down the coast both big and small, some jobs span months while others days.

One of the our favourite projects is “Searching for Slhawt’ (Herring)” with the Marine Stewardship Initative (MSI). This is a collaborative citizen science project dedicated to monitoring the Herring spawn in the waters of Howe Sound and Squamish. Monitoring the location, size and density of the annual herring spawn is a key indicator to the marine ecosystems health. We help with marine logistics for the on-water survey team collecting key data, enabling they to conduct surveys safely and efficiently.
